UPDATE: Mister Robbie Williams did not, in the end, buy this estate. It was eventually purchased in February 2011 by fashion scion Alex Von Furstenberg for $12,999,999.

YOUR MAMAS NOTES: Several weeks ago we chit chatted with a gossipy gal we'll call Babbling Babette who whispered in Your Mama's big ear that hard living British pop star Robbie Williams was in the process of buying a behemoth new house in Beverly Hills' fancy-schmancy guard gated community of Beverly Park.

At the time of the tip we were unable to confirm the purchase and to be honest, we are still unable to confirm the purchase. However, since it is now being reported far and wide we thought we'd jump on the real estate gossip bandwagon.

The property is question sits on almost two acres overlooking Los Angeles in the older (and some say better) section of Beverly Park. According to the records we kept, the house was first listed at just under twenty million smackers and was later raised to $23,995,000. Although we can't confirm it, Babbling Babette swears that Mister Williams paid just under twenty million big ones for the palatial but aesthetically outdated property.

What we do know is that according to prop records (and multiple reports) the sellers are Italian film siren Luciana Paluzzi and her media mogul/theme park executive huzband Michael Solomon. Property records and listing information reveals the sorta-Spanish style estate was built in 1988 and measures in at a whopping 13,638 square feet.

Listing information indicates there are a lucky sounding 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms including a 2-story guest house with three bedrooms as well as separate staff quarters. Listing information also states that in addition to the master bedroom with its tragically tiled dual bathrooms and custom closets there are two additional bedroom suites. We take this to mean that the main house features three of the seven bedrooms, the guest house three more and the staff quarters the seventh. However we can't confirm that bedroom break down so don't any of you people go reporting that like it's the gospel.

Other amenities include a tinkling fountain the entrance hall that gives it a hotel vibe, a large tile-floored living room with a sunken bar, a red library with an obscenely over sized Palladian window and parquet floors. The colossal kitchen features more tile floors and more of the dizzying tile work featured in the master bathroom. It's really not worth discussing the rather unappealing and uninspired day-core other than to say that Mister and Missus Solomon would have been wise to spend some of their considerable fortune hiring a nice gay decorator to assist them in their furniture and finish choices.

The grounds include a double gated circular drive, garaging for three cars, private tiled courtyards, tiled terraces, a properly aligned tennis court with some beauteous bougainvillea bushes, a swoopingly shaped swimming pool, an in ground spa and even more of that multi-colored tile that seems to be an unfortunate design mo-teef for the entire estate. There are long views over Franklin Canyon and toward downtown Los Angeles.

We have to assume (and hope) that Mister Williams will be embarking on an extensive and expensive renovation that will make this house more suitable for a thirty-four year old pop star and his 29 year ladee friend Ayda Field.

Everyone knows by know that Beverly Park is home to all manner of famous folks and bizness barons like Sylvester Stallone, Denzel Washington, Sumner Redstone, Eddie Murphy, and billionaires Haim Saban and Steve Udvar-Hazy, just to name a few.

According to prop records and our wickedly well informed source Lucy Spillerguts, Mister Williams, who moved to Los Angeles in 2002, currently shacks up down the street from Paris Hilton in the guard gated community of Mulholland Estates. He also owns a couple of properties on Mulholland Drive where he famously installed a private soccer pitch. British tabloid The Sun reports that he "also owns flats in Chelsea, West London." We'll just have to take their word on that.

Hopefully he'll refurbish the interiors b/c they're pretty awful. His London home is in Notting Hill on Stanley Gardens or Stanley Crescent - not Chelsea ... Do tabloids ever get anything correct!

Agree about the interiors, but i guess he's got a bit of money left to suss it out.

He sold his Notting Hill home a few years ago as far as I know and now owns an apartment in the exclusive Belvedere Tower, Chelsea Harbour.

Does he own or rent his house in Mulholland Estates? Should be interested to see if it pops up over the next few months.

Also, who is the secrete Beverly Park seller Mama! You've just got to tell us. :-)

If he paid over the original $19,995,000 asking price he's an idiot, theres no way especially in the market the sellers' can justify why the raised the price by millions of dollars after the house had been on the market like 2 months. Also, since the house needs to be gutted he's still an idiot if he paid close to its original list price.

If this house sells for close to $20m and is only 14k sq ft, why isn't the house at 27 Beverly Park selling that is 20k sq ft and $29m... the dollar / sq ft ratio is pretty close plus 27 is on 6 acres of gorgeous grounds surrounded by much bigger more impressive homes in North Beverly Park. (I've never heard that small enclave of older houses evidently called South Beverly Park was considered more desirable, but we'll take Mama's word on it.)

Funny how the newer, bigger, showier houses in Beverly Park make this one look tastefully understated. The size, shape and placement of the windows are killing me, as is that super-eighties loggia, but this looks like a very workable option if someone has to have Beverly Park.

Tragically tiled..........I love it! Just who advises these owners on wallpaper choices? This pattern couldn't be uglier. I hope this guy is clean and sober because, without a strong helmet......swimming in that pool would be a skull fracture waiting to happen. Forget Craig's list.......this house should be listed on Ebay.

I don't think that's wallpapers. Tragically tiled is correct.

oh mama, all that hideous dark wood... it just drags every room down visually. made me want to cry. the bathroom has great bones but people, a *little* frenetically colored tile goes a long way! i can see it looking magnificent if they redo it all in some champagne-colored marble or something. the hallway fountain's kind of cute but it does give it that "farther down the hallway is the food court" sort of vibe. now, i've never had a problem with oversized windows - your average talented gay decorator can work wonders with even a complete lack of windows - and you'd be needing every possible sunbeam coming in, what with all those light-sucking dark beams and "architectural" features. can't say i'm fond of the sharp edges on the pool, but it will keep the guests sober lest they lacerate the backs of their heads while soaking and deter small fry from begging to jump in. last but not least that kitchen... visually *jarring*. the odd syncopation of beige appliance against the nasty contrast of cheap oak cabinetry... oof da. please, if there is a deity, let someone come in and work their magic on it - maybe some pale pickled wood, seamless granite countertops in warm latte tones - nothing too dark - and COVER THE FRONTS OF THOSE FREAKING APPLIANCES WITH THE SAME CABINETRY FRONTS AS THE REST OF THE KITCHEN! sorry to all the rest of the children, but these pics just worked my last good gay nerve. don't know why; mama's had much worse offenders on here before... love you mama from sunny in colorado

eww gross, of course just what LA needs is another pickled wood kitchen with latte colored granite.... cuz there aren't a million of those...

ebonize the cabinetry with white carerra marble countertops

Omg seriously?!?! How could he afford this?? His career's in the toilet, I thought. :S

I like the bathroom tiles, very quaint or retro or whatever. The rest of the house seems not worth the money.

The 2008 Sunday Times Rich List estimates Robbie Williams' fortune at £105 million, which is $183 million at today's exchange rate. They say: "The 34-year-old singer had a quiet year but money still pours in from record sales and past touring."

I'm getting a republican vibe from this estate...did they let Tina Sinatra park her shit here?

Anonymous said...

Oh my, what a lot of work to be done to make it habitable without a blindfold.

I see no mention of a wine cellar or tasting room or wet bar, so our currently reclusive and teetotal singing sensation should be comfortable once he has upped the sports facilities.

183m is nothing to sneeze at.

Robbie's career never really took off big in the US but I remember being surprised to read how famous/popular he was in the rest of the world. Guess it is just another reminder that the good old US of A isn't the center of the universe.

USA doesn't really like pop acts as much as the rest of the world. There are tons of HUGE pop acts else where in the world who are unheard of here.

Anonymous said...

Since "pop" is an acronym for "popular", saying the USA doesn't like pop acts isn't really true. Mylie Cyrus, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake...name the flavor of the week.... would all be pop[ular] acts. Americans just sometimes have different [not necessarily better] taste than people in other countries.

PCH, do you think that at $183M he could afford to call this one a tear down? Could we, huh? Please……pretty please?

It's a horror.

Beyond the somewhat intersting and unique foyer/staircase design, I don't like it. At all.

"Pop" sometimes can be referred as pupular music but really pop music genre features a noticeable rhythmic element, melodies and hooks, a mainstream style and conventional structure. It has nothing to do with popular or not, as there a tons of "pop" songs that aren't popular and tons of popular songs that aren't pop so to rudely pont out as you did shows you ignorance.

Beyonce and Justin Timberlake aren't even really pop-music, more R&B.

Oh Gawd, I hope this is a teardown!

I visited Beverly Hills last month and cant believe the asking prices they are asking for the house's the bloody driveways are like so small lol could fit a tonka truck in them.Beverly Hills is not classy anymore they havent even held onto the old hollywood glamour.I was so disappointed when I went.I got to see some celebritys like speidi (Spencer and Heidi-The Hills) and co though lol but yeah they dont exactly look after the place anymore even down in Hollywood it looked a fright so awful and messy guess we can blame the new breed of Hollywood now for it being such a disgrace.Argghhhhhh :(((((

Any news on this yet? Some sites list this property as off the market, others still say it's "active".
